SafeCoat® Latex Intumescent Coating
This is a single component, intumescent fire retardant, latex coating ideally suited for interior applications on various combustible substrates including SPF Plywood (Spruce/Pine/Fir), Oriented Strand Board (OSB), wood trusses and rough stud construction, where Flame Spread Ratings of 25 or less ("Class A" or "Class 1") and low Smoke Developed Ratings are required. When top coated with one coat of Precidium™ Aqua 90A, SafeCoat® Latex maintains its fire retardant properties in exterior applications. Precidium™ Aqua 90A is an excellent UV resistant product that may be tinted with universal tints.
SafeCoat® Latex is a UL listed product and has been for many years. The product has undergone numerous tests by UL Laboratories on the above listed substrates. SafeCoat® Latex is always sold bearing the UL mark, ensuring customers it is a UL listed product. In order to maintain this listing, our company has frequent visits from UL inspectors. They inspect the production equipment and raw materials, and the finished product is randomly sampled and tested for consistency. The fire resistance test conducted on the SafeCoat® Latex was performed at Guardian Test Labs to the CAN4-S101 Standard. This lab received and tested the SafeCoat® Latex bearing the UL label, thus the test results were on a UL listed product. The UL/ULC Listing number is BMQSC.R19565. SafeCoat PVC Intumescent Coating is an acrylic, solvent based paint which can be used in exterior or interior applications to achieve a Flame Spread rating of 0 and a Smoke Developed Rating of 35 as tested under CAN/ULC S102.2. This intumescent fire retardant coating is manufacturered specifically for PVC pipe and fittings. It is especially effective where exposure to moisture and UV radiation is a concern or coating is subject to repeated cleaning. It can be used in Return Air Plenums, High Rises, Non-Combustible Buildings where traditionally only copper and/or cast iron pipe was used. This cost-effective coating has excellent adhesion and durability and is easy to apply by brush, roller or spray. It dries quickly to a flat (matte) finish, having the appearance of conventional flat paint. It has excellent adhesion to PVC pipe as tested to ASTM D4541. Read more...
SafeCoat® Exterior Intumescent Coating
This is an acrylic, solvent-based paint which can be used in exterior or interior applications to achieve a flame spread of less than 25. SafeCoat® Exterior is an intumescent fire retardant coating ideally suited for exterior and interior applications to SPF Plywood (Spruce/Pine/Fir), wood trusses and rough stud construction, where Flame Spread Ratings of 25 or less ("Class A" or "Class 1") and low Smoke Developed Ratings are required. The purpose of choosing the SafeCoat Exterior is when application temperatures are below 50° F or 10°C as this solvent-based product will not be affected by cold or freezing temperatures. In exterior applications it must be topcoated with a manufacturer-approved top coat so it will be effective where exposure to moisture and UV radiation is a concern. The same applies on interior applications where the coating is subject to repeated cleaning. If temperatures allow, (above 10°C) the SafeCoat® Latex Interior product shows excellent performance in exterior applications when topcoated with the PRECIDIUM™ Aqua 90A, which is a durable, UV resistant aliphatic polyurethane elastomer that demonstrates excellent weatherability in exterior applications. SafeCoat® Clear Fire Retardant Coating
This is a two-component, VOC free, intumescent clear finish designed for application to wood surfaces where a Flame Spread Rating of 25 or less (Class A) is required. SafeCoat® Clear is suitable for interior and exterior applications requiring a Flame Spread Rating of 25 as tested in accordance with the CAN/ULC S-102, and a Flame Spread Rating of 15 (Class A) when tested to the ASTM E-84-09. SafeCoat® Clear dries to a satin finish. An optional matte finish can be achieved with the addition of SafeCoat Clear Matte Reducer. This product is replacing the SafeCoat 747/725 Clear System as a zero VOC, user-friendly, interior and exterior clear product for decorative wood. Read more...

This reducer for SafeCoat® Clear is used particularly for spray applications of the product as it reduces the viscosity. It can be added up to 10%.
SafeCoat® 747 Clear Intumescent Coating
The SafeCoat® 747/725 System product is discontinued. The information will be kept here until such time that we believe product that was previously sold has been used. This two component, water-based, intumescent fire retardant coating is ideally suited for interior applications such as decorative wood products where a Flame Spread Rating of 25 or less ("Class A" or "Class 1") and low Smoke Developed Ratings of less than 50 are required. This product cannot be used without SafeCoat® 725 Sealer/Topcoat as a primer (to prevent discoloration) and as a topcoat to protect the SafeCoat® 747 from atmospheric humidity. Both the SafeCoat® 747 and the SafeCoat® 725 typically require the addition of 747 and 725 Reducers in the required percentage depending on the method of application (brush or spray-applied) of the product according to the Technical Data. If spray-applied, the use of airless spray equipment is required. Sufficient cure time between the two products must be allowed and will be dependent upon temperature and humidity. SafeCoat® 725 Sealer/Topcoat
This is a dual purpose coating for use as a wood sealer prior to application of intumescent coatings and as a top coat for intumescent coatings. As a top coat it provides a tough scrubable surface that dries to a clear satin finish and also provides protection from atmospheric moisture. It is designed to be used in combination with SafeCoat® 747. With SafeCoat® 747, is can be used for any exposed decorative wood which needs a Class "A" Flame Spread Rating. SafeCoat® WT
This is a single-component, water-based, intumescent fire retardant wood treatment. Application is ideally suited for temporary fire-proofing during construction. SafeCoat® WT gives contractors and builders the opportunity to reasonably and dramatically limit damage in the event of fire. It can provide part of the Safety Plan required by contractors and can be used as an alternative to the use of fire blankets. Read more...

SafeCoat® FR41 Broad Spectrum Fire Retardant
This is designed for use on a wide variety of substances. It is effective on wood, wood base products, dry vegetation, straw, and practically all water absorbent materials where fire protection is desired. SafeCoat® FR41 is formulated to be used as an exterior or interior absorbent fire retardant and provides excellent protection against grass and wild fires. Note that rain and laundering will remove the product and if protection is still required, the substrate will need to be retreated with the SafeCoat® FR41. SafeCoat® FR31
This product is highly effective, economical and environmentally-friendly fire retardant treatment for fabric of most types. It can be used as a fire retardant and impregnating agent on practically all water absorbent materials. If the fabric will absorb the product it will significantly reduce flammability. It is also effective on cardboard and paper. If the fabric is laundered, it will require retreatment. Read more...
